  Neither entry is covered outside with any form of shelter. There is no place to take off or leave wet, sandy clothes other than a 3 x 3 foot area immediately inside the front door. A small runner does help, but keeping the white carpet clean can be challenging with children or a dog especially during winter storm season. I would recommend only for guests without very young children or a dog. Other than that a very comfortable rental with lots of books, games, kitchen items, linens, etc.

    We agree it does need an overhang but it has been well recieved by all guests with kids and dogs. The owner has a young child and a dog and it seems to work well for them.

  I didn't like the extra costs after starting the reservation process. The wording of the initial website postings made it sound like a flat rate of $100. Once we started reservations process we found pet fee, cleaning fee, reservation fee. Also website
  says access to beach club, which sounded like no cost. When checked in was told $5. When went found out $5 per person. Although some are expected most other companies are clear about them on the front end.

  This is the 3rd time I have rented this house for relatives. I live nearby and it is such a nice way to have guests visit and for everyone to have a little privacy. This is a fun house and the spacious living room is great for hanging out and playing games
  on the large glass tabletop.

  We enjoyed our stay at the Twain house! While we prefer the ocean or bay view we were thankful for the chance to bring our little dog with us. Such a nice house with comfortable furniture and BEDS!!!! We were able to curl up on the ouch with that cozy blanket. Thanks!

  During the weekend of the 6th through the 9th of May, 2011 my family rented two houses next door to where my sister lives in a small area by the bay in Waldport to celebrate several family events - my nephew's 36th birthday, Mother's Day and the lives of our parents (our father had just passed away in March of this year and our mother had gone ahead in August of 2008). Being able to rent both of these two homes next Carole's house allowed us the convenience of nearness, room for everyone to sleep, and privacy as needed and we all had an amazing time together filled with a lot of laughter and a few tears. We will be doing it again in the future, I can promise you! Thank you!

  The house was very warm and cozy. The location was perfect. We went there for a birthday celebration as well as crabbing. Crabbing was successful and we didn't even have to go far to go crabbing...the bay was right across the street. We're definitely going to go back to the Twaine house. This is going to be a new family tradition from now on!

  Twain house was a great find for our relaxing stay in Waldport. Only disappointment was the dog "Run" that was advertised-more like a kennel. Didn't look very sanitized and was in the "open"-our dog would have seen everyone and every dog in the county and brought herself to their attention.

  Our family of four thoroughly enjoyed staying in this home. Convenient access to the bay (watch out for ground cover prickly thorns)and beach. Our kids loved the bright decorations and my husband and I appreciated the stocked kitchen, big bay- facing windows and the quiet ambiance.

  There should be instructions on how to use the shower, possibly laminated, and with large enough print that you don't need reading glasses. Because we did not know how to use it, the first night was a bath, not a shower. It was difficult for me since I had back surgery that affected my leg. The instructions were in the main bath, but this was not known at the time.

    If we would have known that you were having problems with the bath tub we could have corrected it immediately. We are on call 24/7, we respond to every phone call. We are very sorry you had problems with the shower and have placed another instruction note in the bathroom.

  We absolutely loved our stay at the Twain House! The interior decor is so bright and cheery. Everything you need is there for you in the house. You get a beautiful view of the bay and Alsea Bay Bridge, as well as being within walking walking distance to the ocean. I would recommend this house to anyone who wants a beautiful and relaxing place to vacation! The owners have done many upgrades to make this house comfortable for all who come and also pet friendly!
