Wonderful views from this high bank ocean front home in Seal Rock. Three bedrooms, one with a king and a twin, one with a queen and one with two twins, all on the upper floor. Full bath on the first floor, bath with shower upstairs near the bedrooms. Full size washer/dryer on main floor off kitchen and living areas. Wonderful, grassy yard. Beach access nearby about a block walk. Dog friendly, limit 2 dogs please.

The cabin is great. I did not like the location so close to 101 and having to walk along 101 to get to the beach. The kitchen was great with every thing that one would need.

Wonderful cozy place with lots of space. Getting to beach access is a little crazy with traffic whizzing by at 60+- walking is not a good idea! Odd odor from stairwell. Beach is beautiful.

This rental is very close to the main Hwy with some risk and road noise. Walking to the beach was a CHALLENGE WITH DOGS AND SMALL CHILDREN. One of the beds was not comfortable to sleep in. The rest was perfect!

  Could you please let us know what bed was not comfortable? Walking along Pacific Coast Hwy. is probably not the best idea. The beach access is 1 block away but can be challenging, best to drive.

Overall we very much enjoyed our stay. We love the location of Steele house and old school beach house feel of the space. Would be great to update the amenities with a food processor and some more current games to play.

This was a perfect rental for us (3 adults with our 2 dogs) right on the beach (although the beach access was a short walk away). The house was nice and well kept but not fancy. The kitchen had a good variety of equipment. We enjoyed our time here and
would definitely return if we visit the coast again!

The Steele House was comfortable, had a great view, was close to Newport or Yachats, and had perfect sleeping arrangements for the family. Our daughter was able to sleep on the twin bed in the master bedroom nook. The beach below the house was very close
and usually didn't have many people. There were some decent tide-pools and I found several nice agates on the beach as well. The house had a little smell at times, either due to pets or the home's age, but it wasn't an issue. Overall, the stay was very nice.

I loved the grassy yard with an ocean view on the west side of the house--fenced in and perfect for my dogs and toddler to run around on while we barbecued and watched the sea.

Our family had a wonderful stay at the steele house. The backyard was perfect for our 2 kids and dog Pete. The access to the ocean is 1 block to the right when you get out to 101. The beach was white sandy with lots of cool rocks agates. We will be bach!

For the cost of the house I couldn't have been more pleased. I was really surprised at how much room there was and how clean it was. The only thing that could have made it perfect was if there were stairs that went down to the beach. It was okay thought, because the beach access was no more then a half block away. The view from the house was fantastic.

We had a great stay at the Steele House. The house was spacious, and the upstairs was cozy and comfortable.
The house was clean, and the kitchen was fully stocked with pretty much everything one might need to whip up a meal. The front yard was spacious and fully fenced, and provided a beautiful view of the ocean. Beach access was a short walk away, and the beaches were very nice. You do have to walk along the highway for a couple minutes, to reach the trail down to the beach - not a big deal. There were books throughout the house, as well as a decent selection of movies to watch.

A couple negatives:
The house is located right off the highway. You can hear the cars and trucks as they pass by, which isn't a huge deal since you can hear the sound of the ocean even more. We did notice it, however, and we would have preferred not to. Also, the bed we slept on wasn't that comfortable, and the pillows were rather flat. Not the end of the world, but could certainly be improved upon.

All in all, we really enjoyed our stay at the Steele House. Two journals decorated the coffee table, filled with commentary, stories, and even artwork about this house. All that we read was positive. We'd recommend this house.

Our stay at the Steele House was great. I really love the view from the upper deck. This property worked out for us because some of our family rented the house just on the south side of the Steele House so we were close by each other. The only comment I can remember was that most people didn't like the furniture in the house, but you can't have everything, right. All in all, the price was good and the location was good and it is a unique house to stay in. Sleeping in the master bedroom was a treat. You just open the windows and enjoy the sound of the waves, very nice.
This isn't the first time I've stayed in this house, we stayed in it back in 2006, I think, and I have fond memories of my father spending a lot of time in the chair by the window. The beach access is good there, too. There is a trail just one house over to the north that has a neat trail down to the beach or you can walk on the road to the south a few houses over to the public access. Thanks to the owners of the house and Bayshore Rentals for making our stay enjoyable.
