  This was the second time we stayed at Jack's Place and will certainly be back. The refrigerator had a bit of an old seafood smell (maybe something leaked in there). The house smelled a little musty and master bath has a bit of a urine smell. All and all the house was in good shape and the rental company was a pleasure to work with as always. We will definitely be back!

  We had a great time at Jack's Place. Loved that the kids could go right out in the back yard and play in the sand, they loved it! Only worried about the bay being right there on the edge. If you have small children it is a must that someone must be watching them to insure that they don't fall into the water.

  This house was perfect!!!! The view was amazing - loved cooking in the kitchen and enjoying the view! Location was superb! That sandy backyard was ideal for our young kids (9 and 4) and our dog. The house was very clean and we were happy to see plenty of towels, extra pillows and blankets too! Thank you! We will be back.

  We had a very nice stay. The furnishings are becoming a bit worn, and the door to our bedroom wouldn't close all the way, but the house was very clean and the location was great.

  Although Jack's place is a little older, its clean, the bathrooms are nice and its right on the water. The kids loved the sand in the back yard. We plan to come back again next year!

  Love the location and layout of the house. Access to beach is not from the backyard of this house as pictured in the ad for rental, but that was not an issue for us. House is funky, cozy and relaxing, perfect getaway house! My only complaint was that the B-Que
  Grill could not be used because it was in a state of deterioration. I will definitely stay here again next summer!!!

    We would gladly have brought you a nice new BBQ! We have them in stock here at the office, a phone call away. Sorry you had to go without. We do need to change the verbiage after the winter storms. Used to be you could access the beach from the house, wave action has caused a drift in the sand and you now need to walk to the beach access just a few steps away.

  Jack's place is right on the bay with a short walk to beach access for crabbing or the ocean. The pictures make it look like you can get right to the water from the backyard, but you can't. It's short walk. The inside was spacious and kitchen was stocked with everything you need to cook for your family. Would definitely return.

  We loved the house; it has one of the best layouts we've stayed in. Only one small thing made it less than perfect; that is the location. We would have liked to walk right out on the bay beach but we had to walk on the road for about 5 houses before we could get on the beach. Our house had a steep bank. But our view was gorgeous.

  Crabbed, fished and overall had a great time. The house was good, (would have been nice to get some sports channels on the TV) But we will stay at this rental again. We have stayed at quite a few and I have already told several people about this one.   A great place for we four adults and the 2 grandboys. Lots of wild life activity on the bay, flew a kite right from the deck, dug clams near by, took the short walk over to the oceanside...lots to do here.

  We had a very nice weekend. The only issue we had was with the remote/tv in the living room. It was a little difficult to figure out how to work the DVD player because there wasn't a manual. I would suggest providing some simple instructions. The house was nice, we were there during a storm so didn't get enjoy the outside but the fireplace was wonderful. All in all a great weekend.

  Needs something other than a camping can opener in the kitchen, very frustrating. View is nice and harbor seals frequent the place. Drainage a problem in the driveway and walk if it rains much but love that they allow dogs.

  Great location and great support from Bay Shore rentals (have used them for all our vacations to the Oregon Coast and will again). Can not beat the view looking out at the Waldport bay and the Alsea Bridge (Night lights are fantastic) and access to Waldport and short trip to Newport, are great. Only comment was with the property rented, could use some repair as there has been some ground shifting over the years and most of the doors will not close. Have rented this property a couple time before and have seen the changes over time. Would still recommend to folks wanting a quite space with a great view (and dog friendly).

  I love this vacation house. It is perfect for a family to relax in. It's not new and fussy so you have to be so careful, but CLEAN and comfortable and in good repair. I found the kitchen well stocked for beach living. Nice unbreakables for the outdoors and some a little nicer for a dress up dinner indoors. Beach is easy reach and the bay right out the back door. Nice area on side of house for hosing off equipment and sandy kids. We found it fun for scuba, crabbing and beach use. Close to everything. I will come back. I have stayed in fancier places but none as fun and comfortable as this one. I could sit at the kitchen bar all day and watch the boats in the bay. Lovely. Lots of windows so the view is not lost. The ocean beach, just around the corner has Harbor Seals for great photo shots.

  I would definitely stay here again. The place was clean and had fantastic views. Most furniture is in decent shape. However, we were pretty disappointed with the kitchen. There is a lot of cookware and utensils, but it all started off as cheap, cheap, cheap and is now worn out and barely functional. All the dinnerware and most of the glasses are plastic. Bring your own kitchen tools if you like to cook. The DVD player is very low end - does not even have a fast forward function or the ability to select scenes. Missed the end of one movie because we had to stop. The only way to get back to it would have been to replay the entire movie. Might have been ok with a remote that worked. Jack's place looks like it has had long term owners who put as little into the place as possible. Still, with the great location it's worth the price!
